Radicalization

Radicalization is the process through which individuals or groups adopt extreme political, social, or religious ideologies that reject or undermine established norms and values. This shift often leads to the endorsement of, or engagement in, violent or disruptive actions to achieve one’s goals. The term is commonly associated with the transformation of beliefs that can culminate in terrorism or extreme activism, resulting from a combination of personal experiences, social influences, and ideological teachings. Factors that contribute to radicalization can include perceived grievances, social isolation, identity crises, and exposure to extremist narratives. The process can vary significantly among individuals, based on their backgrounds and circumstances.
