Nasdaq

Nasdaq refers to the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations, which is an American stock exchange. It is known for being one of the largest and most influential electronic stock exchanges in the world, operating entirely through a computerized network. Nasdaq was founded in 1971 and was the first electronic exchange, allowing for the buying and selling of stocks without the need for trading floors. It is recognized for its focus on technology and growth-oriented companies, hosting many of the largest and most established technology firms, such as Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft. Nasdaq also serves as a benchmark for technology stock performance and is known for its high volatility compared to other exchanges. The term “Nasdaq” can also refer to the composite index that includes all the stocks traded on the exchange, known as the Nasdaq Composite Index.
