Europa League

The Europa League is an annual club football competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). It is the second-tier tournament in European football, below the UEFA Champions League. The competition features teams that qualify based on their performance in their national leagues, as well as those that have been eliminated in earlier rounds of the Champions League. Teams from various European countries compete in a tournament format that includes a group stage followed by knockout rounds, culminating in a final to determine the champion. The Europa League provides clubs with the opportunity to compete at a high level, and winning the tournament grants automatic qualification for the following season’s Champions League. It was first established in 1971 as the UEFA Cup and was rebranded as the Europa League in 2009.
