Goalkeeping

Goalkeeping is a position in soccer (football) where a player, known as the goalkeeper, is tasked with stopping the opposing team from scoring by guarding the goal. The goalkeeper is the only player allowed to use their hands and arms, but only within the penalty area. Their primary responsibilities include saving shots on goal, organizing the defense, distributing the ball to teammates, and initiating counter-attacks. Goalkeepers must possess quick reflexes, strong communication skills, and the ability to read the game to anticipate the opponents’ movements. They play a crucial role in a team’s defensive strategy and often serve as the last line of defense against scoring opportunities.
